7.9% Growth in 2015 US Holiday Retail Sales Doubles Industry Forecasts.

The American retail industry had banked on a 3.7% overall growth rate in 2015 holiday retail sales.

The announcement of a 7.9& overall growth rate in sales largely debunks a persistent view of consumers hoarding the windfall energy savings of 2015.

Such a growth rate suggests that analysts will need to revisit their earnings forecasts for major US retailers, particularly in large names such as Costco and Amazon.
